Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Neuro ICU (Travel/Contract)

Location: Jackson, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 18:30–7:00)
Hours per Week: 36 hours

Job Description

• Position on a busy Neuro ICU floor.
• Must be willing to float to other ICUs, Med Surg/Telemetry, and Progressive Care units.
• Holiday and weekend coverage required: 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule; must be willing to work Memorial Day.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Minimum 1 year of Neuro ICU experience within the last year.
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg/Telemetry nursing experience.
• Current certifications:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID must be carried during hours of service.
• Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; updated annually.
• Employment eligibility verification (I-9) required.
• Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; annual TB questionnaire required.
• N95 fit test within 1 year, updated annually; no PAPR allowed.
• Required immunizations or titers with boosters as needed:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start.
• Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31); no declinations accepted.
• COVID vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required prior to start.
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations.
• Completed employment application/resume.
• Profession-specific skills checklist as applicable.

Additional Notes

• Candidates must complete an Epic test-out prior to or shortly after start; only one attempt allowed.
• Failure to pass the Epic test will result in contract cancellation.
• Candidates must adhere to facility appearance standards.
• Locals and first-time travelers are accepted at the same rate.
• No prior travel experience required.

This position offers a challenging ICU environment with opportunities to work across multiple critical care units. Ideal for RNs with recent Epic experience and strong Med Surg Telemetry background.
