Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist - Pediatrics (Travel/Contract)

Position Details

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week (Monday-Thursday), 10-hour shifts (8:00 AM - 6:30 PM)
• Weekend Requirement: None
• Floating: No floating between units

• Sensory Processing Disorder
• ADHD
• Cerebral Palsy
• Developmental Delays
• Genetic Syndromes
• Coordination Disorders
• Post injury/surgery rehabilitation
• Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
• Feeding challenges

Caseload & Work Environment

• Caseload: Approximately 8-10 patients per day
• Sessions: 1:1 therapy sessions, 60 minutes each
• Documentation: Time provided during the day for EPIC charting
• Interdisciplinary team collaboration with OT, PT, and Speech Therapy focusing on family-centered care
• Therapists responsible for gathering and cleaning equipment

Equipment Used

• Suspended equipment with crash pads and mats
• Spider cage, red cord, splint and cast supplies
• Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES)
• Hypervibe and other therapy-related equipment

Required Qualifications

• Valid Pediatric Occupational Therapist license in New Jersey
• Minimum 1 year of Pediatric Occupational Therapy experience within the last year
• National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification

Documentation & Compliance Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License) required within 48 hours of signing
• Criminal background check within 30 days of start
• State-specific exclusions list check (New Jersey Department of Treasury)
• Drug screening within 30 days of start
• Physical exam within the last 12 months, cleared to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility requirements
• Influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
• Fit testing and respiratory medical clearance prior to start (mandatory on-site fit test)
• Annual education sign-off and safety manual acknowledgement
• Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history
• Two professional references within the last 2 years (one managerial)
• Work history verification for at least 1 year prior to start (New Jersey state requirement)
• Skills checklist updated annually

Scheduling & Housing Notes

• Block scheduling allowed (Monday-Thursday)
• No weekend shifts
• Summer is a busy season due to proximity to the Jersey Shore
• Housing market is tight during June and July due to local events; candidates are advised to seek accommodations west of Toms River
