Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Oncology Clinic
Location: Raleigh, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (40 hours/week)

Job Description
- Provide nursing care in an oncology clinic setting.
- Work a consistent weekday schedule with no weekend shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience, with oncology experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Local candidates must be within 75 miles to qualify for local consideration
Orientation & Onboarding
- Orientation sessions occur bi-weekly.
- Completion of unit-specific competency exams is required.
- Must set up a facility-specific guest account prior to clearance to access necessary systems and complete orientation.
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 90 days of start date, including multi-county and alias searches.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 90 days of start.
- Drug test: Negative 10-panel (including THC) within 30 days of start.
- Physical exam within 12 months of start.
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine every 10 years (no exemptions).
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination.
- Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination.
- Varicella immunity or vaccination.
- Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season (no exemptions).
- Polio vaccine or signed attestation.
- Annual updates for TB questionnaire and skills checklist.
- Two professional references from employment within the last 12 months, including at least one supervisor.
Documentation Required
- Valid driver’s license or government-issued photo ID.
- Social Security card (if used for I9 verification).
- Employment application with 7 years of work history.
- Education verification as applicable.
- License verification through NURSYS.
- Pass/fail testing on EKG/medication knowledge administered at orientation (except Hospice RNs).
- Competency checklists and online modules completed prior to orientation.
- Facility-specific documents and photo ID for badge issuance.
Additional Notes
- Candidates with less than a 30-day gap between previous assignments at this facility may have some documentation requirements waived or accepted on file.
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Blue Card training may be required depending on unit assignment; training can be provided onsite if needed.
- Candidates must complete all required online modules before orientation.
- Failure to submit competency checklists within 3 weeks of start may result in contract cancellation or exclusion from future contracts.
This position is ideal for experienced RNs seeking a travel contract in oncology with a structured weekday schedule and comprehensive onboarding support.
