Registered Nurse – Telemetry (Oncology Unit)

Location: Bellevue, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:45–7:15)


Job Description

  • Work on a Medical Telemetry Oncology Unit
  • Administer chemotherapy infusions and manage telemetry patients
  • Experience with cardiac GTTs (limited titration) and telemetry-driven nursing protocols to assist patient throughput
  • Exposure to cardiac interventional procedures including TAVR, Mitral Clips, Watchman, Lead Extraction, TR Bands, complex PCI angiograms, dysrhythmias, vascular procedures, and pre-open heart care
  • Experience with trauma level 1 and level 2 patients
  • Hemodialysis experience (administered in-room)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse license in Washington
  • Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Experience working with Level 1 Trauma or Level 2 Trauma patients
  • Previous travel nursing experience
  • Experience with cardiac GTTs (limited titration)

Required Certifications & Competencies

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (minimum 85% score)
  • Patient restraints competency exam
  • Annual Core Competency exams (Parts I, II, III) with minimum 85% score
  • OSHA mandatory training annually
  • IV Therapy/Infusion competency exam (onsite IV certification provided)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (if applicable for CCU, Float Pool, or ED roles)

Health & Compliance Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Social Security number verification (no physical card required)
  • Background check covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including SSN trace, statewide, federal, nationwide sex offender, and international searches if applicable
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start date
  • Immunizations or titers for:
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (titer, proof of series, or declination)
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (highly preferred or declination)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year (QGold, T-SPOT, or 2 PPDs) with specific protocols for positive TB history
  • 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Annual flu vaccination or facility-specific declination

Documentation & Other Requirements

  • Copy of professional nursing license (hard copy preferred but not required)
  • Primary source verification of license
  • Employment application copy
  • At least two satisfactory references from previous employers within the last year, including clinical competency and reliability evaluations (references must be from manager, supervisor, or charge RN)
  • Completion of facility-specific modules and trainings after orientation (monitored and required for continued scheduling)
  • Review and sign facility policies including:
    • Code of Conduct
    • Applicant Disclosure Statement
    • Confidentiality Policy
    • Appearance and Dress Code
    • Internet Usage Agreement
  • Annual CMS Fraud, Waste, and Abuse (FWA) training certification required

Additional Notes

  • No block schedule requests allowed
  • Must be able to respond to return-to-office requests within 5 days
  • Start dates available: July 20 or August 3

This position is ideal for experienced telemetry RNs with oncology and chemotherapy experience who have prior travel nursing assignments and are comfortable working night shifts in a fast-paced, specialized telemetry oncology unit.
