Overview
- Oncology experience is preferred but not required.
- The unit cares for patients with continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy, soft tissue malignancy, symptom management, and comorbidities.
- There is a heavy focus on infection prevention and fall prevention.
- Travelers may be scheduled to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Oncology experience
- Experience with Epic
Preferred
- Previous travel experience
- Oncology experience
Clinical Skills
- Dysrhythmia interpretation
- Port access
- Arterial line management
- Blood product administration
- Central line care and management
- PICC line management
- IV starts
- Chest tube insertion/removal assistance
- High-flow nasal cannula
- ABG interpretation
Additional Notes
- Ratio: 1:4
- Unit uses telemetry monitoring and related equipment

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
