Overview

  • Shift: Day, 3x12 hours
  • Weekly hours: 36 guaranteed
  • Schedule: Every other weekend required; no blocked scheduling

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New York
  • ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
  • ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • PALS issued by American Heart Association
  • NIHSS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Required Certifications

  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • NIHSS
  • PALS

Key Clinical Experience

  • Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Care for critically ill patients with multi-organ issues
  • Blood product administration
  • Central line management
  • IV insertion and maintenance
  • IV sedation and vasopressor administration
  • Stroke patient care
  • Ventilator care
  • BiPAP/CPAP management
  • ABG interpretation
  • Isolation precautions
  • Triage

Compliance and Onboarding

  • All requested time off must be submitted with the application
  • No time off will be approved after offer
  • Candidate must arrange coverage for any additional shifts if needed
  • Background check required within 1 year of start and updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM screening required before start
  • HHS/OIG screening required before start
  • Unexpired government-issued photo ID required
  • Full physical exam within 12 months of start, signed by a licensed provider
  • Fit test within 12 months of start and updated annually
  • TB screening required within 1 year of start
  • Tdap within the last 10 years or declination
  • Measles and rubella immunity required
  • Mumps immunity status must be provided
  • Hepatitis B documentation required
  • Varicella documentation required
  • Drug screen required within 30 days of start
  • Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season
  • COVID vaccine records or declination required
  • Two professional references within 3 years of hire
  • Skills checklist required
  • New York nurse aide registry check required
  • New York Medicaid exclusion list check required

Additional Notes

  • Telemetry rhythm interpretation assessment is required on day 1 for this role
  • Conscious sedation competency exam is required for RNs working in ED/ER
  • Candidate must review and sign required onboarding and facility documents
