Cardiac PCU Registered Nurse

Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Burlington, North Carolina
• Day shift: 3x12s, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
• Weekend rotation and holidays as needed
• 13-week contract
• First-time travelers are accepted

Unit

• Cardiac Medical Progressive Care department
• 30 private beds
• Rooms are remotely monitored by the Centralized Cardiac Monitoring Department

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
• Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Driver's License
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Telemetry monitoring on the unit
• Pre/post cardiac catheterization care
• Experience with the care and management of invasive lines
• Experience with cardiac drips
• Experience with titratable drips
• Experience with conscious or moderate sedation
• Experience with tracheostomy care
• Experience with CPAP
• Experience with BiPAP
• Experience with Epic

Preferred

• Previous Charge RN experience
• NIH
• Use of Rapid Response Teams

Patient Population

• Cardiac patients, including Congestive Heart Failure, Acute Coronary Syndrome, Arrythmias, pre and post cardiac catheterization with and without intervention, rule out myocardial infarction, syncope, and pacemaker placement
• Secondary focus on respiratory problems such as COPD, pneumonia, and Bipap
