Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Charlotte, North Carolina
• 16-week contract
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 18:45–07:15
• 36 hours per week
• No call
• Every other weekend
• Float if census drops; travelers float first
• 48 rooms/beds
• Average daily census: 34
• Surgical unit with occasional medical overflow
• Surgical focus is orthopedics and joints
• Scrubs: Navy Blue; not provided

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Orthopedics experience
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Management of dysrhythmias
• Use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Peripheral Line Care/Management
• Nasal Cannula
• Non-invasive airway management
• Isolation Precautions/PPE
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Preferred Qualifications

• Total joint replacement
• Spinal Surgery

Unit Details

• Common diagnoses include total knee replacement, total hip replacement, spinal fusions, hip fractures, ortho trauma, and med/surg overflow
• Frequent wound vacs and drains

Notes

• RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite
• Additional call-offs or RTO on unit could result in cancellation and DNR
• Interview required before offer
• EPIC is required
