Location

• Garden City, Kansas

Contract

• 13 weeks
• Nights
• 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• ACLS (AHA)
• BLS (AHA)
• PALS or ENPC
• NIHSS
• TNCC
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Ability to perform point-of-care lab testing after training

Unit Details

• Emergency department float role
• Trauma level: non-trauma designated
• STEMI receiving and stroke send-out setting
• Average daily volume varies by location, about 6–49 patients per day
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4–5 based on acuity
• Charge nurse takes an assignment
• No monitor techs
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7
• Tech support assists with unit secretary work, nursing support, and triage
• Mixed ER holds
• No separate psych/seclusion rooms

Schedule and Floating

• Every other weekend
• Every other holiday
• Floating required within the zone’s ERs
• Travelers must float throughout the full 60-mile zone
• No home base facility
• Leadership creates the schedule based on unit needs
• Unit orientation: 2–3 days
• Clinicians must be in state for the week of orientation

Additional Notes

• Navy blue scrubs
• Candidate interview is with the MedSol clinical team only
• Must submit a 2-week notice to avoid a back-out penalty fee
• Cannot miss more than 3 shifts in the 13-week contract
• Missed shifts may be made up on the front or back end of requested time off
