Job Opportunity: Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

Location

• Santa Maria, California
• Home health setting (geographical region assignment)

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Days, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
• Majority of work hours Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm
• Weekend requirement: every 3rd weekend
• Minor holidays off; major holidays only if needed

Job Description

• Provide home health physical therapy services
• Common patient diagnoses include orthopedic conditions, strokes, joint and spinal injuries
• Candidates must have experience with OASIS (government-mandated form)
• Floor-specific orientation lasts 1.5 to 2 weeks
• Flexible shifts within the day schedule
• Business attire with white lab coat required; no jeans

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant
• Active California PTA license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience with home health preferred but not required

Additional Information

• Electronic Medical Record system used: Cerner
• Rehab aides and OT/PTA staff typically permanent employees
• Candidates may work with PT, OT, and Speech disciplines, but this role is specifically for PTA
• No outpatient or inpatient work; strictly home health care
