Required Qualifications

Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Valid RN license in Kansas
Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
Labor and Delivery (1 year of experience)
Post Partum experience
BLS
NRP

Unit Details

Postpartum unit with 26 beds
Typical patient ratio: 6–8 patients
Floating is within women’s services unless cross-trained to pediatrics and/or NICU
On-call is not required

Relevant Experience / Skills

Post-partum, LDRP, well baby nursery, recoveries, and attending births for baby experience
Ability to recognize workflow, policies, and procedures in a postpartum unit
Ability to assess risk factors related to sepsis, VTE/DVT, suicide, malignant hyperthermia, and pressure injury
Discharge education, abnormal assessment, pain management, time management, and prioritization of patient care needs
Use of AIDET and BSSR

Typically includes 2 hard-to-staff shifts per week
Includes a full weekend requirement every 3rd week plus 1 additional weekend

Dress Code

Black scrub pants and Caribbean blue scrub top, vest, or jacket
