Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR) Travel Position

Location: Lewiston, Maine
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Work in the Operating Room (OR) department with a focus on trauma level 3 care.
• Expected to work 36 hours per week with shifts of 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
• Weekend and weeknight call required.
• Float requirements apply (may be asked to work in other units as needed).

Unit Profile

• Trauma Level: Level 3
• Equipment includes robotics, various microscopes, lasers, specialty OR tables/beds, navigation systems for craniotomy, and DaVinci surgical systems.
• Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems used: EPIC and Omnicell.

Patient Population & Clinical Focus

• Patient cases include general surgery, trauma, bariatrics, vascular, ENT, gynecology, neurology, orthopedics, urology, and robotics-assisted procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Maine
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience in bariatric, vascular surgery, ENT surgery, OB/GYN, neurology, and orthopedics

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with robotics in the OR setting.

Summary

This travel RN position in the Operating Room requires a minimum of 2 years of trauma-level nursing experience, flexibility for call shifts including weekends and weeknights, and the ability to float to other units.
