Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR) Travel Position

Location: Johnstown, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Facility & Unit Overview

• Level 1 Trauma Center with 22 beds in the OR Surgical Services department
• Patient population includes all ages
• Patient ratio: 1:1
• Electronic Health Record system: EPIC
• Common diagnoses/treatments: Orthopedics, Gynecology, Obstetrics, Plastic Surgery, General Surgery, Cardiovascular, Neurosurgery, Urology, Breast, Podiatry
• Scrub color: Blue (provided)
• Dress code: No casual wear

Position Details

• Role: Registered Nurse in OR - Surgical Services
• Shift: Varied day shifts including 9-5, 11-7, 1-9, 3-11, and weekend daylight shifts
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
• Weekend hours: Every other weekend/as needed
• Call requirements: Yes, 1-2 times per week, 8-hour call increments
• Float requirements: As needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience, with OR experience within the last year
• Experience in charge nurse roles
• Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients

Preferred Experience & Skills

• Experience with robotic surgery

Compliance & Screening Requirements

• Complete and clear background screenings prior to start
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance required
• Pennsylvania Department of Human Services fingerprinting required
• FBI fingerprinting (within last 2 years or new) required
• Pennsylvania State Police Clearance (PATCH) required
• Fingerprinting must be completed before candidate clearance

Additional Notes

• Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
• Orientation is held weekly on Mondays
