Location: Lewiston, Maine
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work in a 37-bed telemetry unit with a patient ratio of 1:4-5
Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (3 twelve-hour shifts per week)
Weekend hours required every other weekend
No call requirements
Float required to all units except M3; assist in the Emergency Room as needed
Patient population includes cardiac and med-surg patients with common diagnoses such as stroke, congestive heart failure (CHF), atrial fibrillation, arrhythmias, and post cardiac catheterization/stent care

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maine
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 2 years of experience in Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU), with at least some experience within the last year
Experience in telemetry monitoring and telemetry nursing
Cardiology experience including post-operative cardiac catheterization care
Skilled in cardiac drip titration and management of dysrhythmias
Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Experience with Cerner electronic health records (EHR) system

Telemetry unit (T3 Cardio) with Level III trauma designation
Equipment includes Sigma Spectrum IV pumps, ceiling and portable Hoyer lifts, portable cardiac monitors, defibrillators (x2 for transport), and EKG machines
EHR systems: Omnicell and EPIC

Lewiston is the 2nd largest city in Maine with a vibrant arts and cultural scene
Close to outdoor recreational activities: skiing, fishing, hiking, kayaking
Nearby attractions: 40 minutes to Portland, ME; 15 minutes to Lost Valley Ski Resort; 1 hour to Old Orchard Beach; 2.5 hours to Acadia National Park
