Registered Nurse (ICU) - Travel Position

Location: Kennewick, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Travel RN position in a 14-bed Medical ICU unit
Shift: 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
Weekend hours: every other weekend
No call requirements
Patient ratio: 1:2, CN free of patients
Patient population includes sepsis, respiratory, some cardiac, and trauma cases
Unit occasionally uses IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump)
Electronic Health Record system: Paragon

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Washington
Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Additional Information

Must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as a travel nurse
Team-oriented work environment with emphasis on accountability and best practices
Rapid response start: candidates need to be able to start within 7-10 days of offer acceptance

Pros

This Cath Lab is only travelers at the moment and has locum doctors on rotation. Some days are very slow but there is also a couple IR doctors who does some easy procedures.

Cons

On call is currently 7 consecutive days on then you get 4 days off before going back on due to number of staff present.
