Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience within the last year
PALS

Unit Details

9 beds
Patient ratios: 1 RN to 1–2 patients in PICU; 1 RN to 2–3 patients in stepdown
Floating: may float to Peds and NICU
Scheduling: must work 3 weekends in a 6-week schedule

IV starts
Caths
Holding for LPs
Central line dressing changes
Hemodynamic monitoring
Trach care
Tube feeding and placement
ICP monitoring
Ventilator management

Work Environment

Documentation system: Cerner
Equipment: Alaris pumps
Scrub colors: navy blue or white
Required uniform: all navy, all white, or navy pants with white tops
