Unit Information

• Unit: Emergency Department
• Number of beds: 12
• Staff per shift:

  • Day: 5-7 RNs, 1 ER Tech (11a-11p), 1 Unit Secretary (9a-5p M-F)
  • Night: 5-6 RNs, 1 ER Tech (11a-11p), 1 Unit Secretary (5p-1a M-F)
• Patient ratio: 4:1
• EMR system in use

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)

Preferred Skills

• Strong knowledge in Neurology and Cardiology
• Ability to work in a high-energy, fast-paced environment

Typical Procedures Performed

• STEMI (ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction) care
• Stroke management including TPA administration
• Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI)

Schedule & Hours

• Approximately 36 hours per week
• Shift details not specified

• Preferred scrub color: royal blue (not required)
