Job Opportunity: CST/ORT First Assist

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Overview

• Operating Room with 29 beds
• Patient ratio: 1:1
• Unit staffing includes secretaries and tech availability
• Equipment includes standard OR tools plus 5 Da Vinci Robots, Mako, and Velys Robots
• Documentation system: Cerner
• Scheduling is flexible; call required
• Floating policy applies

Procedures and Skills

• Assist surgeons in a variety of specialties including:

  • Orthopedic trauma, ortho, spine
  • Neurosurgery
  • Gynecology
  • General surgery
  • Robotics
  • Vascular surgery
  • Pediatrics, ENT, plastics, podiatry, oral maxillofacial, dental, eye trauma
• Advanced skills required for these procedures

Required Qualifications

• Certifications:

  • Certified Surgical Technologist First Assist (CSTFA) or Certified First Assistant (CFA) or Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Licenses: OR First Assist Certification
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in CST/ORT specialty
