Surgical Technician - CVOR

Location: Springfield, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long Term
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (day shift)
Additional shifts: 4 call shifts per month, including possible one weekend and holiday shift
Unit size: 24 Operating Rooms
Expected staff-to-patient ratio: 1:1

Required Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of experience as a CVOR Technologist
CVOR Technologist experience within the last year
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Experience as a Surgical Technician

Notes

This position specifically requires experience in Cardiac and Vascular surgery for the CVOR role
Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this role

Pros

Unit is traveler friendly. It’s a teaching hospital so it’s always safe to ask questions. Team members try and help each other, it’s very welcoming.

Cons

Stupid high acuity and nurse to pt ratio is borderline dangerous. 1:6 in the ED and in the units med surge often 1:7.
