Job Opportunity: Ambulatory Infusion Therapy Nurse

Location: Brooklyn, New York
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing


Job Description

  • Provide direct patient care using the nursing process.
  • Responsible for prescribing, delegating, and coordinating care for assigned patients.
  • Deliver care based on established nursing standards and policies.
  • Diagnose and treat human responses to actual and potential health problems through case finding, health teaching, counseling, and supportive/restorative care.
  • Supervise care provided by LPNs, RNs on permit, nursing attendants, technicians, and supplemental staff.
  • Assess patient care needs and develop comprehensive care plans including physical, psychosocial, spiritual, teaching, and discharge planning.
  • Observe, evaluate, document, and communicate patient responses to illness and treatments.
  • Coordinate nursing interventions with the medical regimen and multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities related to patient care and nursing standards.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and participate in staff orientation, meetings, committees, and educational programs.
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients, families, and staff.
  • Engage in continuing professional growth and education, including pursuing advanced degrees and certifications.

Contract Length

  • Approximately 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New York
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • Knowledge and competency in blood and chemotherapy transfusions for both adult and pediatric patients

Preferred Qualifications

  • Oncology Nursing Certification (ONC)

Additional Information

  • No prior travel experience required
  • Ability to fully utilize electronic health record systems and relevant healthcare/billing systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage stressful situations effectively
