Job Summary

• Performs patient testing and administrative tasks in support of clinical laboratory activities.
• Investigates issues with equipment, test results, specimens, and workflow.
• May participate in teams, special projects, teaching, and training.
• Performs quality control, equipment maintenance, routine and less standardized laboratory testing, specimen and reagent preparation, and result reporting.
• Consults with healthcare providers regarding test results and reviews results for accuracy and timely correction of errors.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree
• Medical Technologist (1 year of experience)
• Medical Technologist experience within the last year
• MLT(ASCP)
• Experience with Gram stain
• Experience with specimen plating or planting for microbiology

Preferred Experience

• Experience in Gram stain and specimen plating or planting for microbiology
