PICU

Overview

• Travel/contract RN role in Omaha, Nebraska.
• 13-week assignment.
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30.
• 36 hours per week.
• 24-bed mixed-acuity unit.
• Ratios: 1:2 for PICU, 1:3 for PCU, 1:4 Acute.
• Travelers may be assigned as a Rover nurse/task nurse on inpatient units, including NICU, Labor and Delivery, and adult acute care.
• May be placed on call for regularly scheduled shifts.
• Travelers do not self-schedule.
• Minimum weekend requirement is 3 weekend shifts plus a Sunday night for night travelers.
• Travelers must work 2 of 3 major holidays.
• Locals are not accepted; candidate must live more than 100 miles from the facility.
• Pending license is accepted; if not in hand at submission, the traveler will be booked six weeks out.
• First-time travelers are not accepted unless they have 3+ years of PICU experience.
• Epic charting experience is required.
• Flu vaccine is preferred, not mandatory.
• COVID vaccination is preferred; medical or religious exemption or declination is accepted.
• Scrubs are mandatory: Steele gray scrubs with the Nebraska Medicine logo on the back.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Nebraska
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
• PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience within the last year
• 2 years of pediatric care experience
• One completed travel assignment
• Experience with Epic

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS

Unit Details

• Mixed-acuity PICU with expected work across the acuity spectrum.
