Medical Surgical Oncology

Overview

Travel/contract RN position in New Orleans, Louisiana
Night shift: 3x12 hours, 18:45–07:15
36 hours per week
Contract length: 13 weeks
First-time travelers welcome
Float requirement
Every other weekend coverage
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4

Patient Population

Hematology
Medical oncology
Bone marrow transplant
Gynecologic and surgical oncology

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Louisiana
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Med Surg experience within the last year
2 years of Med Surg experience
Oncology experience
BLS issued by American Heart Association
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
Experience with Epic

Compliance and Health Requirements

Physical exam within 12 months of start
Fit testing within 1 year of start
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months of start
Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella immunity or vaccination documentation
Tdap
Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
Flu vaccination, declination, or exemption during flu season
CLEAR enrollment for workforce identity verification
Background check and license verification required before start

Additional Notes

Emergency event assignment may require staying at the facility or joining the relief team during the event
Bedside CVC placements and bone marrow biopsies are part of the unit setting
Equipment includes IV pumps, barcode medication administration, SCD machines, and feeding pumps
