Medical Surgical RN

Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Columbia, Missouri
• Medical Specialties unit with 57-bed maximum capacity
• Serves internal medicine patients with a wide range of medical diagnoses
• Charge nurse and supervisor on every shift
• Required to float to MS and MS/Tele
• Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00–19:30
• 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Med Surg (1.5 years of experience)
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

• CPI
• 2 years of Medical/Surgical experience

Unit Details

• Average ratios: 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights
• Day shift may go up to 6 patients at times; night shift may go up to 7
• Room amenities include video monitoring capability, sitter rooms, ceiling lifts, and bariatric rooms

Scheduling and Holiday Expectations

• Rotating shifts, holidays, and inclement weather coverage are required
• Must work 50% of holidays that fall within the contract
• RTO is not granted for holidays, but holiday scheduling will be coordinated to meet the 50% requirement
