Location: Portland, Oregon
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Work Schedule: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday
- Setting: Pediatric Cardiac Cath Lab
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years total Critical Care or similar experience (e.g., PACU, ED)
- Experience in a Pediatric Cardiac Cath Lab
- Knowledge and experience with:
- Moderate/conscious sedation administration and recovery
- Anesthesia recovery
- Arterial and venous femoral access/sheath management
- Safe chemotherapy precautions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced procedural environment with competing priorities and quick patient turnover
- Physical requirements:
- Ability to stand up to 4 hours without sitting
- Ability to wear protective lead aprons for extended periods
- Ability to move throughout the entire shift
Education & Licensure
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program (CCNE, ACEN, or CNEA)
- Current, unencumbered Oregon State Registered Nurse License
Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - American Heart Association (AHA) provider only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA provider only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA provider only
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - AHA/AAP only
Additional Requirements
- Fluency in written and oral English
- Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
- Valid government-issued photo ID required on first day
- Background checks and verifications required, including:
- Education verification
- Work history verification
- Criminal background check (within 6 months of start)
- National sex offender search
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen including methamphetamines within 3 months prior to start
- Health documents required:
- Fit mask test within 1 year prior to start
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or signed declination
- Immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (with boosters or declinations as applicable)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination (deadline 12/01/2025)
- References: Two manager or supervisor references from the last 24 months required
- Skills checklist required within 1 year of start
- Radiation badge required prior to start (photo or attestation)
Prior Travel Experience
- No explicit prior travel experience required
Physical & Compliance Notes
- Must be fully available for compliance needs up until start date
- Must review and sign professional appearance policy and job description prior to start
- Completion of required online training modules prior to start (Compass modules for RNs)
- Medication override test provided during orientation (not required before start)
- Respirator clearance and fit testing required (preferred prior to start; onsite fit testing available if necessary)
