Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - LTC/SNF
Location: Spartanburg, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Patient Ratio: 1:9 to 1:12
Job Description
- Provide nursing care in Long-Term Care (LTC) / Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) settings.
- Must be comfortable working in LTC/SNF environments.
- Weekend work is required.
- First-time travelers are accepted.
- Local candidates within a 75-mile radius are not accepted.
- Pending licenses are accepted but must be obtained before starting.
- Attendance policy: Missing more than two shifts per 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may lead to contract review and possible cancellation.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Long Term Care, including experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Experience working in a Long Term Care setting.
Health and Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start, updated annually.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start, updated annually.
- Immunizations or proof of immunity (vaccines, positive titer, or approved exemption) for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (3-dose series, 2-dose Heplisav, positive titer, or signed declination)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31).
- COVID-19 vaccination: Dose 1 and 2 required or declination form.
- Drug screening within 90 days of start (10-panel plus Oxycodone and Marijuana).
- Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year if respirator use is required.
Background and Documentation
- 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, including all locations lived/worked.
- Education verification: Associate’s degree or higher required for RNs.
- Social Security card required if used for I9 verification.
- Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried during work hours.
- Employment application required.
- Two professional references within 1 year of start.
- South Carolina SLED criminal records search required for all candidates.
- Facility-specific documents including photo for badge and TB risk assessment form.
- Facility-specific orientation and compliance checklists must be completed.
Scheduling and Hours
- Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (total 36 hours/week).
- Block scheduling is not accommodated.
- Guaranteed hours based on signed contract.
Additional Notes
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with the initial application; late requests will not be considered.
- Candidates must carry photo identification during all hours of service.
- Candidates will be allowed to test out of the electronic health record system (Epic) if eligible.
- Attendance and compliance with all testing and documentation policies are strictly enforced.
