Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for Cardiac/Thoracic surgical cases. The role involves circulating and scrubbing complex cardiac and thoracic surgeries, including heart and lung transplants. The position requires working three 12-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM) with on-call responsibilities averaging 6-8 calls per month. Holiday coverage may be required.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in South Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association
- NRP certification
- TNCC certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
- Ability to circulate and scrub complex cardiac and thoracic cases
- Ability to circulate and scrub heart and lung transplant cases
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Radiation badge required (provided by agency).
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit but not specified for this role.
Work Schedule & On-Call
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM).
- On-call required with approximately 6-8 calls per month.
- Possible holiday coverage.
Additional Requirements
- Must have a radiation badge prior to starting (process may take 5-7 days).
- Fit test for N95 mask required within 90 days prior to start and annually thereafter.
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules before starting.
- Proof of physical exam and immunizations/vaccinations including Tdap, TB test, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, and flu vaccination or exemption.
- Drug screening (10-panel) within 90 days of start.
- Background checks including criminal, employment, and education verifications.
- Proof of 2 clinical references.
- Passport-style photo for badge required before start.
- Compliance with hurricane season emergency response assignments (June-November).
