Registered Nurse - MS/Tele

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Shift & Schedule

• Shift: Days (3 shifts of 12 hours each)
• Patient Ratios: Typically 1:5, with possible 1:6-7
• Weekend Requirement: Yes; 3 weekend shifts per 6 weeks
• On-call: No
• Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
• Block Schedule: Not accommodated
• Locals Accepted: Yes
• Pending License Accepted: No
• Holiday Time Off (RTO): No time off approved the day before, day of, or day after holidays; max 5 total days off in 13-week assignment
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Oklahoma
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or American Red Cross accepted
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or American Red Cross accepted; required for Tele/PCU, ER, ICU/CCU, PACU, OR; preferred but not required for Observation unit
• NIH Stroke Certification preferred (required for Med Surg, ER, ICU)
• Other certifications (PALS, NRP, EFM) required only for specific pediatric or maternity units

• Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA)

Facility & Work Environment

• Acute Care Hospital, Level 3 Trauma Center
• Total staffed beds: 171
• Charting system: EPIC
• Parking: Free
• Attendance Policy: Zero-fault attendance policy; missed shifts count as unexcused regardless of reason. Two missed shifts result in a warning; three or more may result in cancellation. Applies on a rolling calendar year.

Compliance & Onboarding Requirements

• Background check required within 30 days of start, including 7-year criminal search across all counties worked in last 7 years
• Copy of diploma or transcript required (cannot be pending at start)
• Primary source verification of state license required prior to start
• Unit-specific competency exam required
• Completion of facility-specific training modules prior to start
• Physical exam within one year stating "cleared to work" with physician signature
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within one year (or chest X-ray within 5 years if prior positive)
• Required immunizations or titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Drug test within 30 days of start (10-panel, negative results)
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - May 1)
• Two professional references required prior to start
• Work history verification for last 3 years (attestations acceptable)

Additional Notes

• No prior travel experience explicitly required if candidate has more than 4 years hospital experience
• Floating within scope expected to meet unit needs
• Must commit to compliance requirements including lab visits within 48-72 hours of signing contract
• Self-rating on cardiac and dysrhythmia skills important for assignment suitability
