Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a Level 3 Trauma Center in Oklahoma, requiring a minimum of 2 years of hospital experience and at least 2 prior successful travel assignments.
Details
- Day shift position, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM (3x12-hour shifts)
- Med/Surg Telemetry unit in an acute care hospital setting (171 beds)
- Patient ratios are 1:5, with potential to reach 1:6–7
- Top diagnoses and procedures include altered mental status, CHF, stroke, orthopedic and surgical cases, DKA, and infections
- Unit may also care for patients with mental health diagnoses
- Charting performed in Epic (experience required)
- 3 weekend shifts required per 6-week period
- Floating within scope of practice required to meet facility needs
- No on-call requirements
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active Oklahoma RN license or Compact RN license (no pending licenses accepted)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of hospital experience required
- At least 2 completed travel assignments with no performance or attendance issues required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Cardiac experience required (self-rating of 3 or above)
- Basic dysrhythmia training preferred (self-rating of 3 or above)
- Epic EMR experience required, ideally used in Oklahoma and within the past year
- No background hits allowed
Additional Information
- Level 3 Trauma Center facility
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- Block scheduling and special scheduling requests are not accommodated
- RTO is capped at 5 days for the duration of the 13-week assignment; no additional RTO requests will be accepted after the time of submission or while on contract
- No RTO will be approved the day before, the day of, or the day after a holiday
- Facility enforces a zero-fault attendance policy — any missed scheduled shift, regardless of reason, counts as unexcused; 2 missed shifts result in a warning and 3 or more may result in contract cancellation
- Scrub color varies by unit
- Free parking is available on-site
- All pre-employment lab work must be completed within 48–72 hours of signing
