Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - Vascular
Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in an outpatient setting with variable shifts, primarily Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
- Float to multiple outpatient centers including locations in Eden, Burlington, Magnolia, and others.
- Will work independently.
- Use of PACS and Philips systems; experience with EPIC electronic health records required.
- Perform vascular ultrasound studies including:
- Abdominal Aorta, Aorta, Arterial Graft Studies
- Carotid, Color Flow, Doppler Studies, Duplex
- Lower and Upper Extremity Arterial & Venous
- M-Mode, Renal Artery Duplex, Transcranial Doppler
Required Qualifications
- Valid Vascular Sonographer license in North Carolina.
- Minimum 2 years of vascular sonographer experience, including experience within the last year.
- Completion of at least one travel assignment.
- Registered with ARDMS, RDCS, or RVT credentials.
- Registered with CCI, RCS, or RVS credentials.
- Experience working with adult patients.
Certifications & Licenses
- Current and valid state license for Ultrasound Tech (as applicable).
- National certification required: ARDMS or CCI credentials as noted above.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required depending on unit.
- Pass/Fail EKG competency exam required with a minimum passing score of 82%.
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required.
- EPIC test completion with passing score required.
Compliance & Background Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) required.
- Social Security Card required for badge issuance.
- Background check within 60 days of start covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years.
- Education verification by a third party required, including foreign equivalency evaluation if education was obtained outside the U.S.
- Employment verification for the last 5 years required.
- Two supervisory references required from clinical assignments within the last 24 months.
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start.
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine proof
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B titer or declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- Fit mask test completed within the current calendar year and updated annually (N95 respirators approved).
Additional Requirements
- Candidate must be flexible with scheduling and aware of zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences.
- Must complete all compliance documentation by the deadline (12 Noon EST the Wednesday prior to start date).
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies including floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgement.
- Badge photo must meet strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire, forward-facing).
- Must complete Workday login and onboarding tasks prior to start.
Shift Details
- Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (7:00 AM to 3:30 PM)
- 40 hours per week
This position is ideal for experienced vascular ultrasound technologists who are comfortable working independently in outpatient settings and have prior travel contract experience.
