Job Details
- Unit: Cardiac Intermediate Care (IMC)
- Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week (12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Start Dates: Multiple options available (e.g., July 16, 21, 23)
- Weekend Requirement: 4 shifts per month
- Floating: May float within scope to Acute Care/IMC as needed
- Block Scheduling: Not guaranteed
- Locals Accepted: Yes
- Pending License Accepted: Yes, if application submitted and received by licensing board (qualifies for 90-day license exemption)
- On-call: Not required
Patient Population & Clinical Focus
- Cardiology diagnoses including ACS, NSTEMI, heart failure management, pre/post catheterization care, arrhythmia management
- Electrophysiology services including pacemaker placement and arrhythmia management
- Cardiac surgery (CABG, valve replacement, TAVR)
- Vascular surgery (amputations, fem-pop bypass)
- Advanced heart failure care including pre/post heart transplant, ventricular assist device, inotrope support
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Oregon
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Cardiac PCU - Progressive Care Unit, with at least some experience within the last year
- Telemetry experience
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Facility Information
- Type: Short-Term Acute Care
- Designations: Magnet recognized, Teaching hospital, Level I Trauma Center
- Charting system: Epic
- Parking: $16 daily pass (8 AM – 5 PM), public transportation encouraged
- Special Equipment: Safe patient mobilization equipment (ceiling lifts) available in most patient rooms
Compliance & Onboarding Requirements
- Valid government-issued photo ID required on first day
- Background check within 6 months prior to start, including education and work history verification, international searches if applicable
- Drug screen: Negative 10-panel including methamphetamines within 3 months prior to start (laboratory-based, SAMHSA certified)
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tdap vaccine or signed declination
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (immune titer, vaccines, or signed declination)
- Hepatitis B (full vaccine series, immune titer, or signed declination)
- Varicella (immune titer, vaccines, or signed declination)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination (deadline December 1, 2025)
- Fit mask testing required within one year prior to start (N95 or equivalent)
- Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (Compass modules) including:
- Information Privacy and Security Essentials
- Integrity Foundations
- Harassment Prevention Fundamentals
- Glucometer training (exemptions apply)
- Omnicell Nurse Patient Care Training (exemptions apply)
- Vocera Badge Training for inpatient RNs
- Medication override test provided for orientation (not required before start)
- Professional appearance policy must be reviewed and signed prior to start
- Facility-specific policies and handbook must be reviewed
References & Work History
- Two manager or supervisor references from the last 24 months required (direct supervision only)
- Employment application must include at least 7 years of work history with city and state for each position
Time Off (RTO) Policy
- Maximum of 5 RTO days approved for 13-week contracts
- Requests for more than 5 days require adding time to the end of the contract
- All time off requests must be submitted at time of request
Additional Notes
- First-time travel nurses accepted
- Facility requires full availability for compliance needs up until start date
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating within scope may be required to meet facility needs
