Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse

Location: Bellevue, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (06:45 AM – 5:15 PM)
• Call Requirements: 1-2 overnight shifts per week and 1 weekend per month
• Must be able to scrub and circulate in the operating room
• Cases include CABGs, valve replacements, aneurysms, thoracic cases (including robotic lobectomies), and TAVRs
• Strong preference for experienced Travel RNs with scrubbing skills

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State
• Minimum 1 year of CVOR experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Prior travel nursing experience
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
• Ability to perform mandatory circulating and scrubbing duties

Certifications & Competencies

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required)
• Competency Exam with a minimum score of 85% (required)
• Patient Restraints Competency Exam (required)
• Core Competency Exams Part I, II, and III annually with minimum 85% score
• OSHA Mandatory training annually with minimum 85% score
• IV Therapy/Infusion Exam (if working in IV Therapy)
• NIH Stroke Certification (if applicable for certain units)

Health & Background Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Social Security number verification (actual card not required)
• Background check covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including SSN trace, statewide, federal, nationwide sex offender, and international searches if applicable
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Immunizations or titers for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (or facility-specific declination)
  • Varicella
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap highly preferred or declination)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (QGold, T-SPOT, or 2 PPDs) with specific protocols for positive TB history
• 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant tests acceptable)
• Annual flu vaccination or facility-specific declination (documentation deadline applies)

Documentation & Compliance

• Copy of professional nursing license (hard copy preferred but not required)
• Primary source verification of license
• Employment application copy
• At least two satisfactory references from previous employers within the last year, including clinical competency and reliability evaluations (references must be from manager, supervisor, or charge RN)
• Completion of facility-specific modules and trainings after orientation (must be completed promptly to avoid removal from schedule)
• Review and sign facility policies including:

  • Code of Conduct
  • Applicant Disclosure Statement
  • Confidentiality Policy
  • Appearance and Dress Code
  • Internet Usage Agreement
• CMS Fraud, Waste, and Abuse (FWA) training annually with proof of completion

Additional Notes

• IV Certification will be completed onsite if working in IV Therapy; no prior collection needed
• Facility-specific health requirements form and checklist will be completed once all documents are on file
• Washington State-specific background checks including courts and watch searches are required

This position is ideal for a skilled CVOR RN with travel experience who is confident in scrubbing and circulating for complex cardiac and thoracic surgeries.
