Ultrasound Tech General II (Travel/Contract)

Location: Westwood, New Jersey
Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 8 hours per day (32 hours total)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an ultrasound technologist contractor with strong expertise in breast imaging as the primary focus. Responsibilities include performing diagnostic and screening breast ultrasounds and assisting with or performing ultrasound-guided breast biopsies in a high-volume setting. The role requires close collaboration with radiologists and delivering patient-centered care.

Secondary ultrasound skills required include proficiency in general ultrasound areas such as abdominal, thyroid, pelvic (transabdominal and transvaginal), and vascular studies (venous and arterial Doppler).

Candidates must be willing to work within a 50-mile radius and local candidates are not considered.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of recent ultrasound technologist experience within the last year.
• Experience as a Breast Sonographer.
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)

Additional Requirements

• Must complete unit-specific skills checklist annually.
• Must provide 7-year work history verification; New Jersey placements require at least 1 year of prior work history verified with no gaps longer than 30 days.
• Must complete competency exams and color blindness testing as applicable.
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgment and HIPAA compliance required.

• High-volume breast imaging setting with collaboration alongside radiologists.
