Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract) - Winfield, Kansas

Position Details

• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
• Start Date: August start only (may consider July 27)

Job Description

• Work in a critical access hospital setting
• Provide care primarily after the second shift
• Assist with sterile speculum exams, NST, reflex checks, sterile vaginal exams, and external fetal monitoring (EFM)
• Manage IVs, medication administration, and labor & delivery including:

  • High-risk and vaginal deliveries
  • Forceps/vacuum-assisted deliveries
  • C-sections
  • Neonatal and newborn care
  • Pain management and postpartum care
  • Surgical cases such as cervical cerclage
• EMR system preference: Centricity
• Block scheduling allowed on a case-by-case basis

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kansas
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• NRP certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Ability to assist with sterile speculum exams
• Ability to perform Non-Stress Tests (NST)
