Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Travel/Contract)

Location: Beaufort, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Details

• Patient ratio: 1:5 or 1:6
• Shift schedule includes weekdays, every other weekend, float, and holidays as needed
• Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech
• 50-mile radius restriction for travel

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID must be carried during shifts
• Criminal background check:

  • Within 6 months if signed before 12/14/25
  • Within 30 days if signed on/after 12/14/25
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and for every contract renewal
• Primary source verification of state license (NURSYS verification required)
• Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or facility declination)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (titer or 2 vaccines with boosters or declination)
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer or vaccine series; declination if negative)
  • Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines with boosters or declination)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or declination (year-round requirement)
  • COVID vaccination or declination
• Drug testing: 10-panel within 6 months (before 12/14/25) or within 30 days (after 12/14/25); instant tests not accepted
• Completion of ~81 Relias training modules prior to first shift and orientation (up to 8 hours allowed for orientation)
• Badge photo required (no hats, sunglasses, filters, or altered images)
• Signed job description and confidentiality agreements
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Performance evaluation if previously completed assignments through any agency
• Skills checklist updated annually for applicable unit

• Orientation includes safety manual acknowledgement and core competency exams as applicable
• Facility strictly enforces background and license standards—no exceptions for hits or issues
• Prior travel experience is not required for this position
