Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - General

Location: Fayetteville, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Unit & Schedule Details

  • Weekend shifts: Every other weekend
  • Call: None
  • Floating: Within facility and scope of practice as needed
  • Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
  • Hours per week: 40

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
  • Must have Ultrasound Technologist experience within the last year
  • First-time travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required)

Work Expectations

  • If one major holiday falls during assignment, traveler is expected to work it
  • If two major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work both
  • If three major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work two of them
  • Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day

Compliance & Orientation

  • Full compliance required to start on time; delays in compliance push start date by 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
  • Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)

Required Qualifications

Licensure

  • Must hold a valid Georgia state license relevant to Ultrasound Tech

Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required (AHA or ARC accepted)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit; verify specialty requirements
  • Other certifications (PALS, NRP, EFM) generally not required for Ultrasound Tech unless specified by unit

Background & Education

  • Background check required within 30 days of start, including criminal, sex offender, and education verification
  • Education verification required; official transcripts, diploma, or verified tech certification acceptable

Health & Immunizations

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start required
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months required; can start with TB test pending if TB questionnaire on file
  • TB questionnaire required annually for all candidates
  • Immunizations required or proof of immunity:
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
    • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B: Surface antibody titer or signed declination
  • Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31)

Drug Testing

  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start required; instant drug screen acceptable
  • Panels include Amphetamines, Methamphetamines, Benzodiazepines, Barbiturates, Cocaine, Opiates, Methadone, Phencyclidine, Propoxyphene, THC

Competency Exams

  • Color blind testing required for all candidates; alternative assessment available if needed

Facility Policies

  • Candidate must review and sign Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start

Additional Notes

  • Locals accepted at same rate
  • Manager reviews candidate profile within 48 hours of confirmation to ensure fit
  • Maximum 7-day response time for offer (RTO)
  • References: 2 clinical references required by agency (not client)
  • Skills checklist and work history verification required within 12 months; can be pending at start with proof of processing
