Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical
- Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours each, variable schedule (either days 7:00 AM–7:00 PM or nights 7:00 PM–7:00 AM)
- Hours: 36 hours per week guaranteed (60 hours per 2 weeks)
- Shift Rotation: No routine rotation between day and night shifts; assigned shift depends on facility needs at start
- Weekend Requirement: Yes
- On-call: No
- Floating: May be required to float within scope to meet facility needs
- Block Schedule Accommodation: No
- Local Candidates: Not accepted; permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility

Housing and Transportation
- Housing provided: typically 1-bedroom apartments, available 72 hours before contract start and up to 24 hours after contract end
- Pets are not allowed
- Housing usually accommodates only the traveler; additional family members require approval
- Housing must be cleaned upon departure or cleaning fees apply
- Vehicle provided for local use only (within 30-mile radius), available same timeframe as housing
- Only traveler may operate the vehicle; valid driver’s license and proof of insurance required
- Rental car insurance must cover any damages
- Vehicle must be returned clean and with a full tank of gas
- Tire chains available at additional cost
- Vehicle must be returned during time off and reissued upon return
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska
- Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Additional Notes
- First-time travel nurses accepted
- Guaranteed hours: 60 hours per 2 weeks; may be called off for one 12-hour shift per 2 weeks
- Candidates must provide all required documentation and complete annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules as assigned
- Facility provides Epic training modules; completion required as per facility policy
