Job Opportunity: Cardiac Tele Registered Nurse
Location: Seattle, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit & Patient Population
- Interventional Cardiac / Procedure Unit
- Care for interventional cardiac patients including pre/post invasive and diagnostic procedures such as cardioversion, angiogram, elective PCI, EP patients (ablation, lead placement, pacer placement), pre-TAVR & Mitral Clip, and post-op recovery for structural heart procedures (same-day discharge)
- Procedures include TEE, cardioversion, procedure sedation, blood/blood products administration, sheath removal, epicardial pacer management, and telemetry interpretation
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3
Schedule & Work Conditions
- Shift: Day (3 shifts per week, 10 hours each, 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM)
- No weekends, no holidays, no call required
- Floating to like units required; flexibility to float is mandatory
- First-time travelers are not accepted
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty (Interventional Cardiac Nursing)
- Experience with interventional cardiac patients and procedures
- Proficient in IV skills, sheath pull, stable drips, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
Required Certifications
- ACLS (American Heart Association Instructor, Provider, or RQI or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation equivalent)
- BLS (American Heart Association Instructor, Provider, or RQI or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation equivalent)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
Licensure
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Washington State
- Washington State compact license accepted
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (as applicable for I9 verification)
- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
- Education verification (nursing degree) required; international education requires diploma/transcript or CES report
- NURSYS license verification required
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination (special rules for Alaska placements)
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred (declinations accepted)
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)
- Respiratory safety clearance (RespSafety) required annually for travel candidates
- Fit mask test required annually for travel candidates (onsite completion possible)
- References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment with explanations for gaps/overlaps
Additional Requirements
- Must complete annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
- Must complete Epic training modules as assigned within orientation week
- Floating policy acknowledgment required
- Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required prior to start
- WA Multi-State Licensed Nurses Demographic Attestation required for out-of-state compact license holders working in Washington
Requirements / Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Important Notes
- Prior travel experience is required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
- Locals are eligible to apply
- No weekend, holiday, or call shifts
- Floating to similar units is mandatory, requiring flexibility
- This is a day shift position with 30 hours per week
