Registered Nurse (MS/Telemetry) - Travel/Contract

Location: Lancaster, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Medical-Surgical / Telemetry
• Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Patient Ratios: 1:6 to 1:7
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• On-call: No
• Floating: Required to float within scope to like units with similar patients

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical / Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• One completed travel nursing assignment
• Certifications:

  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • ACLS
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

• Local Radius: 60 miles (local candidates considered)
• Guaranteed Hours: Facility may cancel 1 shift every 2 weeks
• Call-Out Policy: After 2 undocumented call-outs per contract, contract may be canceled
• Attendance at staff meetings is required
• Block schedule accommodations may be requested but are not guaranteed

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Physical Exam: Initial physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Immunizations & Titers:

  • Tdap within 10 years or declination form
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters if low titer)
  • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters if low titer)
  • Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination (boosters allowed if low/non-reactive titer)
  • Flu Vaccine: Required during flu season (Aug 1 - Mar 31), medical/religious exemptions accepted (no declinations)
• TB Testing: Negative T-spot or Q-Gold within 90 days of start; follow-up chest x-ray if positive
• Drug Screen: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
• COVID-19 Vaccination: Not required but highly preferred; vaccination records must be uploaded or declination form completed

Documentation & Verification

• Background Check: Annual, including 7 years of residence/work history and multiple registry checks
• Employment Verification: Last 3 clinical employers verified (not required for this facility)
• References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Education: Diploma or transcripts preferred but not required for clearance
• Licensure Verification: Primary source verification required; NURSYS verification required for RN license
• Photo: Passport-style headshot required for badge
• Facility-Specific Documents: Multiple agreements and acknowledgments must be signed prior to start (e.g., Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, HIPAA Attestation)
• Modules: Orientation and compliance modules must be completed before orientation; estimated 2 hours
