Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (OR RN) - Travel/Contract
Location: Salem, Oregon
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Day shift, variable 4 x 10 hour shifts
- Shift start times: 07:00-17:30, 09:00-19:30, 11:00-21:30
- Weekday night call shifts: 23:00-07:00 (8 hours)
- Weekend scheduled and call shifts: 10-12 hours
- Schedule includes 5-6 shifts of call and/or weekend scheduled shifts per 6-week schedule
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2 years OR experience; first-time travelers allowed
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required (AHA only, RQI acceptable)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
- Licensure: Valid RN license required; NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start
- Competencies:
- Tele skills required for all RNs regardless of unit
- Competency exams with passing scores (e.g., 80% for general competency, 85% for Dysrhythmia/EKG if applicable)
- Background Checks:
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start (7-year search)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and ongoing every 30 days
- International background check if applicable
- Health Requirements:
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (can start with physical pending)
- Drug testing (10 panel) within 90 days of start
- Immunizations and titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) antibody titers or vaccines
- Hepatitis B titer or vaccination series or declination
- Varicella antibody titer or vaccines
- Flu vaccine or signed declination (year-round requirement)
- Fit mask testing to be completed onsite within first week of start (not required for some lab/tech roles)
Job Details
- Work Schedule:
- 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each, with variable start times on weekdays
- Night call shifts and weekend shifts included in rotation
- Shift Types: Weekday scheduled shifts, night call shifts, weekend scheduled and call shifts
- Call/Weekend: 5-6 shifts of call and/or weekend scheduled shifts per 6-week schedule
Documentation & Compliance
- Clear copy of driver's license or passport/state ID required
- Proof of name change documentation if applicable
- Education verification required for non-licensed providers (not applicable for RN)
- Photo for badge required at least 8 days prior to start (white background)
- Completion of required Healthstream modules by due date (varies by unit)
- TB history screening form required prior to start
- Signed job description required prior to start
Preferred Certifications (Not Required but Recommended)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) for ER, ED, Pediatrics, and preferred for PACU
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) for L&D, NICU, Postpartum
- NIH Stroke Certification for ER, preferred for Cath Lab & ICU
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) preferred for ER
Additional Notes
- Candidates may start with some health documents or certifications pending if in process (e.g., physical exam, education verification for certain roles)
- Background checks and certifications must be current and meet facility requirements
- Telemetry skills are mandatory for all RNs regardless of unit assignment
