Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (CVOR RN)

Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:00 PM - 6:30 AM)
  • On-Call: No
  • Holiday Coverage: Possible holiday shifts required
  • Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
  • Experience Details:
    • Must be able to circulate in all services including CT, Vascular, Surgical Oncology, Plastics, Colorectal, Robotics, Bariatric
    • Scrubbing vascular/general cases highly preferred
    • First-time travelers not preferred
  • Licensure: South Carolina RN license or Multi-state RN license required at start of contract
  • Certifications Required:
    • BLS (AHA)
    • ACLS (AHA)
    • Radiation badge (provided by agency)
  • Local Radius Rule: 60 miles
  • Locals Accepted: Yes, on a case-by-case basis

Required Documentation & Compliance

Licensure & Background

  • South Carolina RN license verification (primary source) required
  • NURSYS verification required for all RNs
  • Background check within 1 year including: SSN trace, county checks, statewide, sex offender registry, national criminal, FACIS 3, and international searches if applicable
  • Employment history verification for last 3 clinical employers
  • Education verification required; diploma or transcripts accepted as placeholder if needed

Certifications

  • BLS (AHA or ARC) required for all clinical staff
  • ACLS (AHA) required for adult critical care units, cath lab, ER, ICU, interventional radiology, PACU, PCU, pre-op, observation units
  • Radiation badge required for CVOR RNs and other specified roles
  • Other certifications (PALS, TNCC, NIH Stroke, CHEMO, EFM) as applicable based on unit

Competency Exams

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required
  • Color blind testing required prior to start
  • Competency exam required; pediatric OR competency exam preferred for Peds OR but regular OR exam accepted

Health & Immunizations

  • Physical exam updated annually, attesting ability to meet job demands
  • Fit test for N95 mask within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination form required
  • Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days or chest x-ray if prior positive
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: positive titer or vaccination series required; boosters may be needed for low titers
  • Hepatitis B: titer, vaccine series, or declination required
  • Drug screen: 10-panel urine test within 90 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season or medical/religious exemption accepted (no declinations)
  • COVID-19 vaccine highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated

Facility Specific Requirements

  • Completion of orientation modules prior to start (approx. 2 hours)
  • Upload COVID and flu vaccine documentation into facility system
  • Passport-style badge photo required before start
  • Radiation badge process must be initiated and received before starting clinical work
  • Sterile Processing Techs have additional physical and lab requirements
