Medical Surgical RN

Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Wilmington, North Carolina
• 13-week assignment
• Day shift: 3x12 hours, 6:45–19:15
• 36 hours per week
• Target ratio: 1:5–6
• Floating required
• Weekend requirement: 12–16 per contract
• RTO after booking is not allowed; additional RTO or call-offs may lead to cancellation and DNR
• Locals accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Must pass EKG Testing prior to start
• Must be available for hospital orientation classes each day during week one

• MS/Tele
• Telemetry
• Management of dysrhythmias
• Telemetry on the unit monitoring
• Accessing Ports
• Insulin
• CVA
• Surgical drains
• Interpretation of ABGs
• Trachesotomy Management
• EPIC

Unit Details

• Medical/Surgical unit with telemetry-remote monitoring
• Isolation area for COVID patients
• Multi-level care includes stepdown, but stepdown patients are cared for by stepdown staff, not M/S staff

Schedule and Orientation

• Scheduling based on unit needs
• Unit orientation: 24 hours
• Hospital orientation in week one
