Labor and Delivery Nurse

Assignment Details

• Location: Monroe, Georgia
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Night, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Hours per week: 36
• Contract length: 12 weeks
• Unit: Labor and Delivery / postpartum / newborn care
• Floating: Within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Call: None
• Weekend requirement: Every third weekend unless otherwise specified
• Local candidates accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Georgia
• Labor and Delivery (3 years of experience)
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS
• NRP
• EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring
• EFM / AWHONN certification on file prior to start
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• NIH Stroke Certification if required by the unit description
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam if required by the unit

Compliance and Start Requirements

• Full compliance is required to start on time
• Maximum RTO: 7 days
• Must work major holidays that fall during the assignment as outlined by the facility
• Background check must be complete before start
• Education verification of related degree is required
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months of start
• TB questionnaire required
• Drug screen within 60 days of start
• Flu vaccine or declination required
• Work history verification of most recent employer required
• 2 clinical references required
• Skills checklist within 12 months, updated annually

Additional Notes

• Candidate must care for laboring patients from 35 weeks and provide postpartum and newborn care
• Non-billable orientation hours vary by contract length
• Candidate must review and sign facility conduct and dress policy documents before start
