Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech (Travel/Contract)

Position Details

• Specialty: Interventional Radiology (IR Tech)
• Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: ASAP
• On-Call Requirement: Yes

  • One call night per week (4:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Every third weekend call from Friday 4:30 PM to Monday 7:00 AM
• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend (Friday evening through Monday morning)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week for 3 twelve-hour shifts

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, including experience within the last year
• ARRT (R) certification required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required (AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted)
• Experience with Epic electronic medical record system required
• First-time travelers not accepted
• Pending state license not accepted; must have active license at profile submission
• Government-issued photo ID required
• Background checks required including:

  • 7-year background check (updated annually)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • Education verification (transcript or diploma accepted as placeholder if pending)
• Additional certifications may be required as applicable (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, NIH Stroke Certification) — refer to job details for applicability

Facility & Work Environment

• Acute Care Hospital, Teaching facility, Adult Level II Trauma Center
• Equipment used: Siemens and Philips bi-plane imaging systems
• Comprehensive stroke center with general IR and neuro intervention services
• Free parking available

Compliance & Health Requirements

• Physical exam within last 12 months (for records only, not required for facility clearance)
• Immunizations and titers required or acceptable declinations for:

  • TDAP (within 10 years)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframe; annual TB questionnaire required
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant acceptable)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31); declinations not accepted
• Fit mask testing completed onsite during orientation

Documentation & Onboarding

• Must complete demographics and emergency contact form prior to start
• Vaccine attestation required if declining certain vaccinations
• Contractor screening checklist completed upon compliance receipt
• Minimum of 2 professional references required

This role is ideal for experienced Interventional Radiology Technologists seeking a travel contract with a reputable acute care teaching hospital environment. Prior travel experience is not required, but first-time travelers are not accepted for this position.
