Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer Travel Contract

Job Details

• Shift: Day shift, 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM (10 hours/day)
• Hours per Week: 40 hours, including weekend shifts
• Start Date: ASAP
• Weekend Requirement: Yes
• On-call: No
• Floating: No floating between sister facilities required
• Schedule: Rotating days with some Saturdays included; start times may vary by location, with 6:45 AM preferred
• Work Locations: Multiple sites within ~5 to 30 miles radius; floating between these locations as needed
• Guaranteed Hours: Yes
• Return to Office (RTO): No RTO will be approved; RTO greater than 7 days requires approval

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as an Echo Technologist, with experience within the last year
• Must hold active ARDMS, RCS, or RDCS credential prior to start date
• Valid Driver's License required

• Uniform: Caribbean blue scrub top and black pants

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background Check: 7-year criminal background check required within 12 months of start, including SSN trace, counties lived/worked, statewide, national sex offender, national criminal, federal extended, and education verification
• Education Verification: Required; foreign equivalency report and diploma required for internationally educated candidates
• Physical Exam: Required within 12 months of start
• Fit Mask Test: Required within 12 months and must be updated annually; clean-shaven required for fit testing
• Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
• TB Testing: Negative TB test or chest X-ray documentation required; TB questionnaire must be updated annually
• Vaccinations:

  • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept 1 - Mar 31)
  • Hepatitis B, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella vaccination or titers required with booster protocols if needed
  • Tdap vaccination highly preferred for pediatric specialties, labor and delivery, postpartum (declination accepted)
• Competency Exams: Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• Additional Training: Various facility-specific education modules and attestations required, including but not limited to:

  • Stroke Education
  • CAUTI Education
  • Suicide Risk and Environmental Assessment
  • Patient Transportation with Oxygen
  • Pyxis ES MedStation
  • Baxter Pump Interoperability
  • Patient Bedside Rounding
  • Ventricular Assist Device Awareness
  • Blood Administration Module (annual update)
  • Fire Safety Module (effective 5/4/2026)
  • 21st Century Cures Act Module (for Ultrasound Techs)
  • Chaperone Policy Training (effective 5/31/2024)

Additional Notes

• Candidate must provide a 7-year work history with no gaps greater than 90 days
• Prior travel experience is not required
• No on-call duties
• No floating outside assigned locations
• Multiple background checks and verifications must be completed and approved prior to start
• EPIC training/testing may be required depending on prior experience (optional but highly encouraged)

This position offers a stable 13-week travel contract with guaranteed hours, weekend work, and a rotating day schedule in a large acute care hospital setting requiring ARDMS or equivalent credentials and at least 1 year of experience.
