Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 18:30–6:30)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Patient Ratio: 1:4
Unit: 20 Bed Emergency Department, Level 4 Trauma Designated

Job Description

Seeking a compassionate, team-oriented Registered Nurse for a busy Emergency Department that sees over 34,000 patients annually. The role requires strong clinical skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced trauma environment.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Current certifications:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• E-Verify compliance
• Background checks including:

  • 7-year search (SS Trace, County searches for all locations lived/worked/schooled)
  • Nationwide Sex Offender Registry
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (annual)
• Education verification
• Professional references: 2 within the last 3 years
• Skills checklist (annual)

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Immunizations or documented immunity/declination for:

  • Hepatitis B
  • TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
  • Varicella (Chickenpox)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine or declination (during flu season)
  • COVID-19 vaccine or declination
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable (within required timeframes)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start

Additional Information

• The facility is located in Texas’s wine country, approximately 1 hour from San Antonio.
• The Emergency Department is a Level 4 trauma center with a high patient volume.

This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Department RNs who have prior travel contract experience and meet all certification and compliance requirements.
