EEG Tech Travel/Contract Position

Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule

• Evenings, Monday to Friday
• 8-hour shifts: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
• Some weekends required
• No on-call duties

Job Description

• Work in an epilepsy monitoring unit with experience in SEEG (stereo EEG) and SPECT
• Facility is a Level 1 trauma and/or teaching hospital or similar size

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as an EEG Technologist
• EEG Technologist experience within the last year
• Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
• Experience with SEEG (stereo EEG) in an epilepsy monitoring unit
• Experience with SPECT in an epilepsy monitoring unit

Compliance and Background Requirements

• Wisconsin BID Form and Caregiver Screening required within 90 days of start
• Comprehensive background check within 90 days prior to start, including SSN trace, county, nationwide, and sex offender searches
• Background review required for any pending or convicted criminal charges (not required for traffic violations)
• EPLS, GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire and monitored monthly
• Drug screening required to meet standard clinical candidate requirements
• Physical exam must be collected to meet agency standards (within 1 year)
• Immunization and health document requirements include:

  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray with TB questionnaire updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titers; medical or religious exemptions accepted with facility approval
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer; medical or religious exemptions accepted
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series with positive titer or facility-specific declination form
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season
  • Other vaccines or declinations as required by facility (e.g., Meningococcal for certain departments)

Testing and Competency Exams

• Facility-specific Pediatric and Adult Telemetry exams required prior to start and updated annually
• Pass/fail testing with remediation process for telemetry exams
• Medication and pharmacology competency exams as applicable
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgment and pass/fail testing for telemetry required

Additional Requirements

• Two clinical references within the last 3 years (agency standard)
• Employment application and annual skills checklist required
• Facility-specific photo for badge (passport-style, no headwear except for religious/medical reasons)

• Candidates must meet all certification, licensing, and compliance requirements prior to start
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
