Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele Float)

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Job Summary

This is a travel/contract Registered Nurse position working in the MS/Telemetry Float unit. The contract length is approximately 13 weeks.


Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma
  • Minimum of 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience
  • Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
  • Experience working with Level 2 Trauma patients
  • Experience working with Maternal-Fetal patients
  • Experience working with Neonate patients
  • Experience working with Pediatric patients

Certifications (Must be current upon submission)

  • BLS (Basic Life Support): Required for all positions (AHA or ARC).
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for MS/Telemetry and ICU units (AHA or ARC).
  • NIH Stroke Certification: Required for RNs in MS/Telemetry units; must be updated annually.
  • Competency Exams:
    • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (100% passing score required, updated annually).
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (90% passing score required, updated annually).
    • Core Part I, II, and III Competency Exams (80% passing score required in all sub-sections, updated annually).
    • Conscious Sedation Competency Exam (if applicable, 80% passing score, updated annually).

Background and Verification Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and OFAC sanctions list checks required within 30 days of start and updated monthly.
  • Education verification with transcript/diploma matching the highest degree.
  • NURSYS license verification within 30 days prior to start.
  • Work history verification covering 10 years, including international positions.
  • Two references from former direct supervisors (one within 1 year, one within 3 years).
  • Current and updated resume covering last 7 years, with explanations for gaps over 30 days.

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by a licensed provider, confirming good health and no physical limitations.
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframes.
  • Immunizations or proof of immunity for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (vaccination series, positive titer, or declination with annual renewal)
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap mandatory for certain units)
    • Hepatitis A (required for pediatric/PICU positions)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required annually or approved medical/religious exemption.
  • Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen including marijuana (required within 30 days prior to start, updated annually).
  • COVID-19 vaccination strongly preferred; declinations accepted with agency form.
  • Fit mask testing (N95) completed onsite prior to or on first day.

Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Completion of Patient Care Orientation Class (Skills).
  • EPIC training required if no EPIC experience within last 6 months.
  • Fit testing for N95 masks completed onsite within 1 year of start.
  • Completion of HealthStream modules onsite after clearance.
  • Completion of various policy acknowledgments prior to start, including:
    • Health Code of Ethical Business Conduct
    • Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy
    • Information Access Agreement
    • Oklahoma Offender Registration Act
    • Oklahoma Responsibilities and Rights (updated every 2 years)
  • Fingerprinting and Oklahoma Screen clearance required prior to start.

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must pass all competency exams with required scores; multiple attempts may lead to cancellation.
  • All certifications and verifications must be current and uploaded within specified timeframes.
  • Candidates without required documentation or certifications may be pulled from assignment.
