Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

Contract Length: 16 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse with a minimum of 4 years of Operating Room experience prior to travel. Candidates must have experience in Neurology, Transplant, General Surgery, Gynecology (GYN), and Orthopedics.
Schedule
- 2 shifts per week, 10 hours each (Monday & Friday)
- No holiday time off approved during blackout dates (11/23-11/29, 12/21-1/3)
- Weekend and call schedules are variable and will be discussed during the interview
- Floating within facility scope and to outpatient areas as needed

Required Qualifications & Certifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
- Minimum 4 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience in Neurology, Transplant, OB/GYN, and Orthopedics specialties
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC accepted)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required for this specialty
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit specifics (e.g., PALS, NRP, EFM) – verify during credentialing
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for telemetry and critical care areas
- Compliance with all required background checks, education verifications, and health documents
Compliance & Onboarding
- Full compliance with all credentialing and documentation required to start on time
- Background check must be completed within 30 days of start
- Education verification required; can be pending at start with proof of processing
- Physical exam within 12 months required
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months required
- Drug screening (10-panel) within 60 days required
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or declination forms as applicable (MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, TDAP, Flu)
- Annual renewal of some documents and certifications may be required for contract continuation
- Orientation hours vary based on contract length
Additional Notes
- Maximum 7 days requested time off (RTO) allowed
- Locals accepted at same rate
- Clinical screening will be conducted to determine fit before final approval
- Floating assignments may include outpatient areas within scope of practice
This position is ideal for an experienced Operating Room RN with a strong surgical background across multiple specialties, ready for a travel contract in a dynamic surgical environment.

Pros
1:6 ratio for med surge. Float pool was great and staffing was very good with communication where to go each shift and would put you back for continuity of care if asked. Doctors on call at night helped and listened.
Cons
Cost of living is rough, area and patients are sick. One to no cnas for help. Minimal supplies and some staff weren’t always helpful.
