Position Details

Job Description

  • General Duties:

    • Responsible for delivering high-quality healthcare in a compassionate manner.
    • Will work in all Critical Care units and may float as needed.
  • Equipment Utilized:

    • EPIC medical record system
    • B. Braun pumps
    • Avea ventilators
    • Gemstar epidural
    • Edwards and Phillips patient monitoring
    • Omnicell medication dispense

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum Experience: 2 years in critical care, including:
    • Post heart catheter recovery and patient management
    • Post-operative management for day 1 open heart surgery patients
    • Experience with long-term ventilated patients
    • Proficiency with Swan Ganz catheters and vasoactive medication titration
    • Management of TEA, Triple A, and general surgery patients
  • Licensures and Certifications:
    • Active Oregon RN License
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Shift and Schedule

  • Shifts: 12-hour shifts
  • Weekends: Every other weekend required (may need to work consecutive weekends)
  • Call Requirements: Scheduled call is not required, but may be placed on mandatory standby due to low census.

Floating Requirements

  • May float to various units including:
    • ICU
    • IMCU
    • CVICU
    • ED (Emergency Department)
    • Medical Surgical
    • Telemetry
    • Post-surgical
    • Ortho Neuro
    • BHU (Behavioral Health Unit)

Unit Information

  • Bed Size:
    • CVICU: 20 beds
    • ICU: 22 beds
    • IMCU: 16 beds
  • Nurse to Patient Ratio:
    • 1:1 or 1:2 in ICU and CVICU
    • 1:3 in IMCU
  • Staffing Support: Each shift includes CNA/US, MT, unencumbered charge RN, and Break RN(s) as staffing allows.

Dress Code

  • Standard scrub top and bottoms (any colors).
  • No visible tattoos on the neck or above.
  • No facial piercings.

Training and Orientation

  • Orientation Program: 18 hours of critical care orientation for ICU, IMCU, and CVICU.
  • Additional Support: Education support provided by 2 RN educators; resources available for learning and career growth.

Additional Information

  • Must read Asante Email weekly for communication.
  • Excessive absences (>3) may lead to termination.
